Development of Lidar System for 3D Printer

Abstract
The rapid growth of additive manufacturing technology has prompted the need for more precise quality control mechanisms. This master's thesis focuses on exploring commercially available Lidar systems that can be mounted on a 3D printing head, specifically the e3D Tool Changer. The task involves the development of a Lidar tool for the said platform and writing an algorithm to measure the surface of an existing structure using the developed tool. This thesis will attempt to increase the precision and reliability of 3D printing by integrating Lidar technology into the 3D printing process.
